2017 - 2018 Global Projects

Tanzania 2018


We will be partnering with the Daraja Music Initiative in Moshi Tanzania this coming June.  We will be working with teachers and students at the Korongoni Secondary School.  While in Tanzania, we will also be setting up a long distance learning classroom with a local university.  Once we return to Oklahoma, we will working with students in Tanzania via Skype. We are also opening up this opportunity for Oklahoma State University students to serve as teachers in this partnership.  This was made possible in part by a grant from Oklahoma State University.  

Brazil 2018

Belo Horizonte

Our Artistic Director, Meredith Blecha-Wells will be traveling to Brazil this coming October.  She will be working with teachers as she leads a weeklong pedagogy seminar.  She will also be giving master classes at three universities and will be working with students in local social projects. 

Haiti 2017


We are eager to announce that we will be embarking on our first project this coming October!  Our faculty will be working with the students and teachers involved in the Haiti Youth Orchestra Program. We will be working with a group of approximately 100 students between the ages of 8-25.  The Haiti Youth Orchestra was formed by American Zach Harris.

11:00 - Noon: Semi-private lessons

12:00 - 1:30: Lunch

1:30 - 2:30: Orchestra Rehearsal

2:30 - 4:00: Afternoon Pedagogy Seminars
